This is my friend's dream. She is a coach of a high school girl's basketball team. I am her assistant. In her dream, she was calling out instructions. All to faceless people. She does think she was calling out instruction to her kids, husband, players, coworkers...And no one was listening. Sometimes she was calling out and telling herself instructions for her to follow, and she wasn't even listening to that. The only person she recognized in the dream was herself. She felt helpless and frustrated in the fact that no one was listening or doing what she was asking them to do, including herself.
Dreams often reflect our subconscious thoughts, emotions, and experiences. Your friend's dream appears to be rich in symbolism and suggests a few potential themes that may resonate with her current life circumstances:
Feeling Unheard or Underappreciated: The fact that she was calling out instructions to faceless people, and they were not listening, may signify feelings of being overlooked in her role—whether it’s as a coach, an assistant, or even in her personal life. This could reflect anxieties about her influence or authority within her team or family.
Self-Doubt: When she calls out instructions to herself and isn’t listening, it might indicate an inner struggle with self-doubt or a lack of self-commitment. This could symbolize a disconnect between her goals or intentions and her ability to follow through on them, which might be causing her frustration.
Overwhelm and Pressure: Coaching can be a demanding role, and dreaming of multiple people not listening could represent the pressures she feels to manage various responsibilities. She might be feeling overwhelmed by her duties and expectations, leading to a sense of helplessness.
Need for Connection: The facelessness of the people could also represent a longing for deeper connections, both in her professional life and personal relationships. She might be yearning for recognition, support, and collaboration but feels isolated or detached.
Authority and Control: Since she is in a position of authority, the dream might stem from her frustration with how she perceives her ability to lead and inspire others. Her feelings in the dream could reflect a struggle with maintaining control or effectively motivating her team.
Overall, this dream may serve as an invitation for her to reflect on her communication style, relationship with authority, and perhaps her own self-talk. It could be beneficial for her to explore ways to assert herself better, engage more with those around her, and seek support in her role as a coach.
